I have to admit that there are situations where extractions are necessary, but...
When there is not enough space on an arch for all the teeth, the easiest solution (teeth extraction) it is not always the smartest. If tooth extraction becomes an option in the planning of an orthodontic treatment, there are several functional and aesthetic elements to take in consideration, such as:

• Is there enough tongue space left once the teeth have been moved in their final position?
• Can the space created with the extraction be filled without compromising the lingual inclination of the teeth?

One of the most common symptoms of Temporo-Mandibular Joint (T.M.J.) is the tension headache. Many people who suffer from this type of headache describe it as a ring of pain around the head or like wearing a hat two sizes too small. Others will refer to it as a migraine headache.
T.M.J. related headaches are caused by a complex mechanism; essentially, there is a constant contraction of the muscles in the jaw, this creates a tension or pressure in the face, head and neck. When someone is clenching and /or grinding their teeth, which are T.M.D. symptoms, they are creating a constant contraction of the muscles, which results in pain.
